It's hard to believe, but my little Paity Pie turned 2 on Tuesday. She was so funny, every time someone asked her how old she was, she would say: "My 4". She thinks that because Jace is four she also should be four, and let me tell you, with the attitude she has she definately could be four.
The past two years have FLOWN by and I wanted to post some pictures of her to remind everyone of what a beautiful baby girl she was and what a beautiful little girl she is becoming. Enjoy....

Workout Tag

I've noticed that most of us don't have much to blog about lately and that a lot of us are expressing our dissatisfaction with our healthiness and exercise routines, so I am starting a tag to get us all blogging again and to help each other out with new ideas on exercising. So....tag, you're it!
1.) How many days a week do you workout? I do cardio 3-4 times a week and right now I've been doing toning 5-6 times a week trying to get ready for shorts and swimming suits.
2.) Favorite Cardio Workout(s) - Eliptical because it doesn't hurt my knees and because it works my upper body too.
3.) Favorite Ab Workout(s) - I'm not sure what it's called, but I balance on my "bottom" with my legs bent and out in front of me and my arms in front of them, then I push my legs out and straighten my arms, repeating as many times as I can. (I saw this while subbing in a weight lifting class, it really works!)
4.) Favorite Arm Workout(s) - I like to do dips (you get a chair and get in front of it and squat like you're going to sit in it but you don't because you're in front of it, put your arms on the chair and lower yourself and raise yourself back up) because they work the backs of my arms where the flabbiness is.
5.) Favorite Leg Workout(s) - I do lunges and toe raises. The lunges work my upper legs and the toe raises work my calves.
6.) Favorite Glut (butt) Workout(s) - The lunges are also good for your butt, but I also will just stand there and flex for as long as I can, I know that sounds funny, but I heard somewhere that to contract and hold a muscles for a long time is better than flexing and releasing it over and over again.
7.) Favorite Outdoor Workout - I like running by myself, but I like riding bikes with my husband and kids. I also walk a lot during the summer with my friend that lives next door.
8.) Anything else that I may not have thought of that you think may be useful for the rest of us!

Beating the Winter Blues!
My kids have been begging me, relentlessly, to play outside. It has only been in the 20s and 30s for several days and they both have colds so I have not let them. Today, however, we came up with a good way for them to get some physical activity without being out in the cold. Tim will probably kill me if he sees this, but I think it was pretty safe and nothing got broke. And - most important of all - the kids had a blast!
And then when they needed a break, it was a great place to watch Max and Ruby!

My New Nephew
As I mentioned in a previous post, I am finally an Aunt! Tim's sister Nikki and her husband Nick had their baby boy, Braxton Lee Knaack, on January 22nd and I just got to see him for the first time two weekends ago. He is sooooo cute! He seems so tiny, although I know that a lot of babies are smaller (he weighed 8 lbs at birth but lost quite a bit for a couple of weeks). He seems to look a lot like his dad, but it's hard to tell when they are that little. Whoever he looks like, he's adorable!
Here are a couple of pictures, I didn't get a really good one that shows all of him because he was sleeping and I did not want to wake him up. Doesn't Nikki look amazing?! The baby is only 7 weeks old and she looks like she was never pregnant.

You're Invited!
I started addressing the envelopes for Paityn's birthday party invitations last night, and I realized that I do not have enough to invite everyone that I would like to. I ordered them online and do not have enough time to order more and have them sent out in time, so I would like to extend an invitation to friends and family that are close enough to us that you could come. I'm not sure how I miscalculated, but I did and I'm sorry if you do not receive one in the mail! If you do happen to plan on coming, please let me know so I can prepare! I cropped the invitation so as to not give our personal information to strangers, but the party is on April 11 and starts at 1:00 p.m.. It is at our house, please let me know if you need directions or have any questions. By the way, Mandi will be here so come and see her!
