Birthday Party Yount Style

I LOVE having birthday parties for my kids because it's the only time I get to see all of my family at the same time, in the same place. We did Paityn's party this weekend because Mandi was here and I wanted her to get to see everyone too. We had a great time, thanks everyone for coming!

I decided that since I have not really been working a lot lately and seem to have some extra time on my hands at home, I would take on the project of re-teaching myself how to sew (sorry grandma for not paying better attention) and make Paityn's party dress. Here is the finished result. It looked really cute on even though it was definatley "homemade".
We did a Care Bears party theme and I decided that since I was on a homemade kick, I would also make the cake so I ordered a cake pan online and made this cake. What a chore! I made sure Tim got a picture of all my hard work before it was consumed and gone forever!

Oh, and have I mentioned that my children are SPOILED ROTTEN. Paityn got so many presents that there would be no way to post them all, so to sum it up she got: SO many adorable clothes; movies; books; dolls; shoes; a bike (with all the accessories); a toy horse that she can really ride; and a little kitchen. Yeah, I know it's pretty ridiculous, but it's fun!

I thought there would be several children there so I tried to plan some activities and one of them was a pinata. Mandi and I stayed up late one night constructing it (we ended up throwing away the instructions and doing it our own way). It was cute, but we made it a little too heavy duty and it took the kids FOREVER to get it broken. Oh well, it was fun for them and funny to watch. Paityn didn't even know which end of the bat to use, but she was trying.

How fun, the cake looks really good. Yes I would have to say your kids are very spoiled, but I have no room to talk.

I didn't know that you are such a little homemaker. I love the dress, and the cake is way cute. I don't think that you can spoil your kids too much. I have a bad habit of knowing when to stop buying too. It looks like she had a great party.

Wow. Paityn looks so cute and grown up. I didn't know you were miss homemade. I might call upon you to make some stuff for me, because I stink at that stuff. Looks like a fun party. I need a another trip to Boise and will have stop and say hi.
