This year we spent the 4th with Tim's family in northern Idaho. Tim's mom runs a daycare out of their house and one of their "traditions" is to have a bike parade on the 4th of July. All of the kids bring their bikes and things to decorate them with and they wear their patriotic clothing and have their faces painted and fingernails colored. I couldn't believe how excited they all were, even the older ones. It's really cute because they aren't really parading for anyone other than themselves, but they think it is so awesome, and Ann even gets them candy to throw just in case their happens to be someone to throw it to. Their parade route consists of going up to the elementary school, riding around it, and going back home.
The weather was not great - drizzly and in the high 50s, so I had to put Paityn's red, white and blue outfit on over a sweatshirt. It looks pretty funny, but at least she was warm.
